Yes, dear

Found this article in the Times, about World of Warcraft widows and games addiction. can't think of anyone I  know  who might find it relevent....

Well, it's mildly interesting, but it claims more than once that Starcraft is a MMORPG. That's just flat-out wrong.

Starcraft is not massively multiplayer, as only 2-4 people play in any one game/world at a time. And it's not a roleplaying game in the same way that wargaming is not roleplaying - you're commanding a bunch of people while you remain outside "the action", instead of immersing yourself in any particular one of them in the middle of it.

They may be online games, but they're totally different. Even the important aspects in terms of addiction, such as the stimulus/reward feedback loop, or how social structures are integrated in the game, are worlds (well, universes) apart.

Still, reading it makes me glad I've not succumbed to any of them.
