False alarm

The smoke alarm stopped beeping late in the afternoon, of its own accord.

*shrugs*

stupid thing.


edit 8;15. It started beeping again. Then stopped, then started.

maybe you had an insect or a piece of dust fluttering around in there completing the circuit. That happens sometimes! I'm sure it's very frustrating though!

It's giving the one-beep-per-minute which indicates low battery charge. The internal wiring's pretty well sealed, and it kind of got dusted when it was opened recently to change the battery.

Thanks for the suggestion, anyway.

Next time you open it up, you might check the integrity of the wiring for the battery. If you think you put in a fresh battery, you definitely should NOT be getting that alert. Might want to check the terminal connections for the battery area, too. Just a wee bit of corrosion can cause spotty connections too.
