The honeysuckle was looking very pretty yesterday. it's in full leaf now, and after the rain, the leaves hold little drops of rainwater that sparkle in the sunlight like shiny glass beads.
This is one of my favourite times of year, because I love to see trees in flower. All the cherry trees along the top of Crookes Valley Park are in flower - white and pink - and there are drifts of blossom everywhere. A few years ago, I gathered cherry blossom from the park, dried it and used it as confetti at Iain and Vikki's wedding. The big may tree at the end of the road is just coming into flower, and in a couple of weeks will look like it's covered in snow. There are also horse chestnuts in the park, and laburnum, with those lovely yellow cascades. And later on, all the elderflowers will be in bloom too. Lots to look forward to.
