Walk Like An Eygptian

Walking like an Eygptian is not yet an exercise my physiotherapist has set for me, but I wouldn't be surprised if she did.

I currently have two walking exercises to do. One is walking heel to toe, while turning my head slowly from side to side, and the other is to walk backwards. Both are supposed to improve my balance. The thing is, I don't have much space in my flat suitable for doing walking exercises. There simply isn't enough straight-line space. And any attempt at walking backwards has the added hazard of cats coming to see what on earth I'm doing, and getting underfoot.

The net result is that I practice my walking exercises when I'm out and about - walking to the shops or pub. So if you happen to see me walking backwards, or pretending to walk on a tightrope, I'm not drunk, I'm doing my physio. 

Just so that's clear.
