Let us prey

I was walking home this afternoon, when I spotted a rabbit on the grass outside the University Psychology Deperatment. The grounds around the building are walled off from the roads, and are mostly grassed with some shrubs and trees. It was a wild rabbit, peacefully feeding and enjoying the sunshine. There plenty of people walking past along the road, but the rabbit seemed to feel safe where it was.
I saw one a couple of months ago not far away, on the patch of waste ground where the glass techology building used to be at the end of my road. The psychology dept is only a few hundred yards away, and there's plenty of green spaces between the two. I'm sure there weren't any in the area ten yeara ago, or Navarre would surely have brought one home. He was quite a keen hunter, and eventually took to murdering rats with regularity. I don't think Skiffle's caught anything more challenging than a spider (she sat on it).

I saw one a few yards from the railway line when I went down to pick up Gloria. It didn't seem at all concerned about the express train thundering right past it.
