Tried a new dish this evening - Plumble. (plum crumble). I've never really made a crumble before, as the usual fruits used are rhubarb, gooseberry or apple. I don't like either rhubarb or gooseberry, and I'm not keen on cooked apple. I was looking through the wonderful 'Margrite Patten's Everyday Cookbook' last night (it's very 50's and traditional) and she just lists 'fruit crumble', and adds that you don't need to add water to soft fruit like raspberries or blackcurrents.
So I decided to make a crumble, and chose plums as something that seemed seasonal and good. The plums aren't very ripe, and could have done with a touch more sugar, but other than that - mmmmm. Besides, I bought cream while I was in Beanies, and that always helps :)

Feeling pleased with myself, and comfortably full.   *burp*

Rasberry crumble is really nice, Blackcurrent also good when in season (harder to get hold of out of season)

Plumble sounds good, must try that this year!
