I wonder...

how long it will be before I stop thinking of programming recordings on the digibox as 'setting the video', and the programmes as having been 'taped' ?

As I've been 'setting the video' since 1982, it may take a while.

After a year I have got it down to record and set to record though video still slips in from time to time as my bed room TV has a built in, working video which i still use now and then.

"Setting the video" is still accurate, as the digibox does record video. It probably calls itself a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) somewhere on its case/instructions/box. "Setting the VCR" would be incorrect, but you can continue to "set the video" for the forseeable future.

As for "taped" - meh. As long as your video and its associated controls still calls going backwards "rewinding" (digital video is not "wound" in any way, so is incapable of being "rewound") then you can claim you're just trying to be consistent with everyone else's outdated metaphor.
